Turkey launches digital visas for Vietnamese visitors
The Turkish vietnamvisaembassy.org“>embassy in Vietnam has introduced a digital visitor visa for Vietnamese people that saves time and money compared to applying for a hard visa.
The new visa was launched in cooperation with Turkish Airlines on Tuesday.
Applicants can receive an e-visa by filling out a form on the Turkish immigration agency website www.evisa.gov.tr/en/ and paying with a credit card. The visa will be sent to their email, Saigon Tiep Thi reported.
A hard copy visa requires one to submit packs of documents and wait between three weeks to a month for the result.
Eligible applicants are those visiting for tourism or work purposes, using Turkish Airlines round-trip tickets, and holding valid passports.
One important requirement is a valid Schengen visa issued for a group of European countries or an OECD visa for a group of 34 countries in Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, which also includes the US and Canada.
An e-visa costs US$20 and can be used for up to 30 days — single entry — before it expires in six months.
The embassy said developing e-visas was part of an effort by the two governments to facilitate tourism and bilateral trade.
