Vietnam resumed visa exemption for citizens from 13 countries from 15/03/2022
The Vietnamese Government on 15/03/2022 agreed to waive entry visa requirements for citizens from 13 nations.
In detail, citizens from the Federal Republic of Germany, the French Republic, Italian Republic, Kingdom of Spain, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Russian Federation, Japan, Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Finland and the Republic of Belarus will be allowed to entry Vietnam for 15 days from the date of entry without visa requirement nevertheless their types of visa, entry purpose.
The waivers will last for three years, from March 15th, 2022 to March 14th, 2025, and could be extended based on Vietnamese laws.
Before the pandemic, Vietnam’s visa exemption policy was applied for these 13 countries and e-visas were issued to visitors of 80 countries and territories.
However, Vietnam closed inbound tourism for nearly two years to stop the rapid spreading of the pandemic.
In the seek of reopen inbound tourism, The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, along with travel agencies and tourism accommodation business in the country have been demand loudly for the reinstate pre-pandemic entry and exit procedures as well as quarantine-free travel for international arrivals with vaccine certificates, negative COVID tests.
