Getting Vietnam visa across the border from Cambodia

Hi,

My husband and I are traveling via land from Phnom Penh, Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh City, Vientnam in October this year. My understanding is that a visa approval letter applied for on line is not acceptable at a land crossing, only at the international airports. Would you please advise me how is the easiest and best way to apply for our visas for Vietnam please. I do not want to have any difficulty crossing the border from Cambodia to Vietnam. Thank you for your help.

Monsieur, je suis francaise> Jecompte arriver au Vietnam le 26 fevrier, par voie terrestre en provenance du Cambodge, a Hatien, et ressortir a Lao Kay pour le Yunnan le 13 mars. Merci d eme dire si j'ai besoin de faire faire un visa? ou puis je rentrer sans visa puisque je reste 15 jours? J'ai une lettre d'invitation de l'EFEO ( Ecole Française d'Extreme Orient)

España creo que tiene exención de visado si la estancia es inferior a 15 días y se hace una única entrada al país. ¿Esa exención es válida tanto si se entra en Vietnam por vía aérea como terrestre? Gracias
